New assisted living facilities for the Cambridge Housing Authority are created at two high rise apartment buildings for seniors to accommodate the needs of the aging population. An entire floor is secured and staffed, apartments are reconfigured to meet accessibility and special needs requirements, and community spaces constructed to provide residents and staff with needed facilities. Building infrastructure is adapted and updated. The open planning provides comfortable spaces within a constrained building envelope.
