Progressive Architecture Affordable House Prototype

Abacus’s award-winning housing prototype placed first out of 630 entries in Progressive Architecture Magazine’s international design competition. The flexible stacked plan allows for a variety of family needs. Modular construction keeps the cost affordable and speeds construction. A range of design alternatives was developed for different family types and site conditions, including grouped houses with lower level parking built for a Neighborhood CDC on a hillside site in Pittsburgh.
