New accessible housing for the Stoneham Housing Authority is oriented towards the sun for passive solar heating; deep overhangs and landscaping provide summer shading.  The open planning with clerestory windows brings light deep into the single story buildings.  Careful site planning integrates 2 and 3 bedroom apartments into the neighborhood and the landscape.  The  massing breaks down the scale of the buildings and gives them a comfortable residential scale.
