Poor planning and disintegrating systems at this 108 unit public housing project built in 1952 required a new vision. Abacus is preparing design options that restore the neighborhood fabric, while creating a model for what 21st century public housing can be. Housing and shared facilities are organized around streets and open spaces that connect to the surrounding community. Building layouts provide individual flat and town house entries, front porches and bays that form a coherent urban structure.
