A new center for community life fills what was once a forlorn corner at the heart of a garden apartment complex. Red brick walls tie the building to its context while the corner window and contrasting colors give it a vibrant presence. Aluminum framed glazing, floating canopies and steel and wood trellises are a delicate counterpoint to the heavy masonry walls that defined the public way.
