New England Aquarium Marine Mammal Environment
Boston, Massachusetts
A new public visitor environment and animal habitat was created on a waterfront site behind the existing aquarium building. Orchestrated as a procession of ramps and platforms for viewing the animals, the exhibit is designed to provide a multiplicity of ways to interact with the seals and otters and their environment. Providing services to both animals and visitors right on the edge of the harbor required complex design and engineering solutions.
