[ THE CHALLENGE ]  Provide accessibility and program enhancements to a 100 year old classical revival public library within historic constraints and a very limited budget.

[ THE RESPONSE ]  A generous sidewalk-level walk leads to the new two story glass and steel main entrance at the library’s lower level. Elevator and stair open up programming throughout the building including after hours use of the Main Hall on the upper level as well as the future Children’s Library at the lower level.
